Why Audubon Construction?
How We Work
Audubon Construction offers all levels of general contractor services that free you from the burdens of obtaining required permits, securing materials and settling any issues with suppliers. With Mike, you will be dealing strictly with one person who will work closely with a group of professional subcontractors and be involved at every step of the process with no costly mistakes and a clean, well-organized work site. He knows the business well and has excellent referrals with a strict tolerance for a solid finished product.
Mike has said, “I build it like it’s my own house. It’s important to feel good about the work I do.” He’ll work closely with you to understand your unique goals and expectations. Your home is an important investment. If Mike cannot help you then he will connect you with someone who can.
On Estimates and Bids
Estimates and consultations are free. We’ll give you an estimate that will detail the work to be done, the materials and equipment needed, the labor required, and the length of time the job will take. We’ll work with you to keep costs down but realize that the cheapest bid isn't always the best. Homeowners who accept a bargain bid may wind up less satisfied overall than those who went with the slightly higher pricing. For example, one bidder may be using a cheaper insulation or tubing that won’t hold up over time.
Other bidders may also be bidding on what you say you want without making it clear that your house needs to have other areas addressed first, which will cost extra. Some low bidders count on costly plan revisions to make the job more profitable. Know that we will spend the extra time to determine job specifications so that plan revisions are less likely, thus saving you money and decreasing work delays.
Green Building
We can assist you with green building and remodeling projects and improving building performance such as installing energy saving appliances and radiant floor heating. Audubon Construction believes in environmentally friendly building practices and is also aware of Colorado’s code mandates for energy-efficiency requirements. We also recycle the materials generated during a project such as common metals, wood and wood scraps, to lessen the impact of building on the environment. Interview previous customers and ask them:
- Would you hire this contractor again?
- Were you satisfied with the quality of the work?
- How did they handle cleanup each day?
- Did the contractor communicate well and answer your questions?
- How did the contractor handle differences of opinion and requests for changes?
- Was the job completed on time and at the bid? If not, why not? If things changed, was everyone in agreement?
